KID BOURBON ran a cracker on the turf track here last time when forced well out wide when throwing down his challenge. He did really well to finish second in those circumstances. Trainer Mark Hennig has a high strike-rate when his runners switch surfaces.
Saffie Joseph Jr has two big chances with Overdeliver and Gump. The former looks the pick of the pair after winning as he liked over this distance a couple of starts ago. He came from a long way back to fill the runner-up spot last time and is a threat. Gump finished well over seven furlongs latest so should appreciate going up to a mile.
ENVOUTANTE looks hard to beat returning to turf after battling well to score on dirt here last time out. She saw out the slightly shorter distance strongly and has a lot more to offer with just three starts under her belt.
Highland Glory is very well bred with her full sister having won a Grade 1. She took a maiden over a mile latest but looks the type to improve as she goes up in distance. Top rider Luis Saez is an eyecatching booking for the trainer.
Seducer looked rusty when sent off favourite latest and is another who should appreciate this stiffer test of stamina.
Don’t miss out on all the best of Sun Racing
HE HATE ME did well to go so close from a difficult stall ten draw here last time. He managed to hold on for third in a good race and will be happier with this drop in distance.
Network Effect looks a big danger as he also comes back in trip. He has shown his best form over this seven furlongs and looked in need of the run when second on comeback. He has plenty of near misses at Graded level and should be right there again.
Noble Drama has a good record at Gulfstream and he landed a $200,000 race here earlier this season. This trip suits well so he will be in the mix.
ISLAND COMMISH has been working well ahead of this hot contest as he tries to make it four wins on the spin. He is proven in graded company and was impressive when scoring on turf latest. He’s been off four months but that trackwork means he should be fit and ready.
Proven Strategies was beaten just two lengths at the Breeders’ Cup in November which speaks for itself. He has landed back-to-back wins at Gulfstream and looks the prime danger over a trip that suits.
Gufo is having his sights raised here but was impressive in scoring last time over slightly further. He will try to bring his proven stamina into play.
