Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a potential swoop to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that the north London side are more likely to sign the Lyon midfielder than Sporting Lisbon’s in-demand Bruno Fernandes this summer.
The same article states that Tottenham have been long-term admirers of the promising French midfielder and have been scouting the 22-year-old since his spell at Amiens between 2016 and 2018.
According to the same story, Lyon are set to ask for £70m for the France international but Champions League runners-up are confident that they can convince the Ligue 1 outfit to sell their prized asset in a £50m deal.
The Sun report goes on to state that Ndombele has been touted as the ‘next N’Golo Kante’ thanks to his tireless performances in the middle of the park at Lyon.
The Spurs target scored two goals in 48 games in all competitions last season to underline his importance to the Ligue 1 outfit.
Tottenham finished the Premier League campaign in fourth place ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
However, Spurs failed to end their wait to win silverware under Mauricio Pochettino following a 2-0 loss to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final.
