WHEN it comes to picking the perfect poolside coverup, most of us prefer something oversized and comfy as we soak up the sun.
However, e-retailer Fashion Nova has left shoppers thoroughly confused after they debuted what has got to be the most pointless cover up we’ve ever come across.
That’s right, the bonkers American brand – otherwise known as the brains behind THAT Lara Croft meets the Matrix bodysuit – is now selling a cover-up made entirely of string.
And it goes without saying that this baffling design will do absolutely nothing to protect wearers from the sun.
The stretchy, netted design also leaves swimwear entirely on show – not to mention the fact that it runs the risk of leaving you with some VERY questionable tan lines.
Unsurprisingly, confused shoppers were quick to poke fun at the design after the brand shared an image of the “cover-up” with their 15 million Instagram followers.

I mean, they’ve got a point[/caption]
One user made fun of the ridiculous tan lines[/caption]
A third asked what the dress actually covers… if anything[/caption]
Mocking the divisive dress, one wrote: “Imagine the sunburn though.”
Another added: “This would leave the funniest tan lines ever.”
Meanwhile, a third rightly asked: “What’s it covering??”
However, not everyone was so critical of the design – with some even claiming that the “gorgeous” dress was perfect for their upcoming holidays.
But would YOU dare to wear it?
