4.20 DIAMOND JUBILEE STAKES
- A distance win is important
- Five-year-olds and younger do well
- A previous Group-race win is a plus
- Royal Ascot experience is a bonus
FIRST thing is to eliminate any horses aged six or older as that’s been a killer stat in this Group 1 sprint.
That spells the end this time for Donjuan Triumphant, Enzo’s Lad, Kachy, Keystroke, Lim’s Cruiser, Projection and past winner The Tin Man.
A break much beyond a month has been a negative so Bound For Nowhere, City Light and Tip Two Win have been off the track for too long.
We haven’t had a real turn up in recent seasons so it’s likely that Speak In Colours and Yafta are too long in the betting to be winning a Diamond Jubilee.
Most winners of this have run at the Royal meeting before which can’t be said of Dream Of Dreams. Emblazoned is too low in the official ratings at 109 to strike in this company.
So we’re down to a trends shortlist of Blue Point, Invincible Army, Le Brivido and Sands Of Mali.
Of that pair only Blue Point and SANDS OF MALI have landed a Group 1 success. The former may feel the effects of winning here on Tuesday so Richard Fahey’s hope can do the business at decent odds.
