Rio Ferdinand is backing Tammy Abraham to score lots more goals for Chelsea FC after the England striker netted in Tuesday night’s win over Lille.
Abraham and his Chelsea FC team-mates were looking to secure their place in the Champions League knockout stage with a win against Lille.
The 22-year-old broke the deadlock in the 19th minute when Abraham finished from close range following good work from Willian down the right wing.
Abraham’s goal was his 13th of the season in all competitions to continue his excellent form for the west London side following Frank Lampard’s appointment in the summer.
The Chelsea FC number nine has netted two goals and has made one assist in his first season in the Champions League in the current campaign.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand is backing Abraham to continue his excellent form for the west London side.
“He is going to score a tremendous amount of goals,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“He wants to be between the sticks. He wants to be in areas to score. He is hungry. He has a desire to score. It’s a very good finish. He’s clinical. He’s scored goals at every level.
Abraham returned to Chelsea FC from a season-long loan at Swansea City last season.
The Chelsea FC striker will be hoping to continue his prolific form when the west London outfit take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Lampard’s side are in fourth place and five points ahead of Manchester United in the race to secure a Champions League qualification spot.
Chelsea FC finished in third spot in the Premier League table last term, while the Blues won the Europa League title.
