Real Madrid have made signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United their number one transfer target this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are now braced for bids for the 26-year-old midfielder as the Spanish side look to bring him to La Liga.
The same story says that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has “won” his transfer battle with club president Florentino Perez, and Pogba is now the club’s top target.
That’s despite the fact that Manchester United are reluctant to sell, and that Pogba could cost as much as £160m, according to the same report.
Pogba has struggled to produce consistent form for Manchester United recently and that has led to speculation about his future at the Red Devils.
According to the same story, Pogba would “jump at the chance” to move to Real Madrid this summer after Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League and missed out on Champions League qualification.
Pogba has two years left on his current contract at Manchester United but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils would be willing to sell the midfielder this summer or not.
