A SAVVY fashionista called out her best pal who joked “you’d look gorgeous in a bin bag” by turning up for a night out wearing a BIN LINER as a dress.
Lisa Barnes, 38, from Newcastle, wore the BLD (bin liner dress) to 46-year-old Michelle Cox’s house for pre-drinks ahead of their Saturday night out after the comment was made days earlier.

Tickled by Michelle’s ringing endorsement, Lisa decided to put her style credentials to the test by whipping up a wrap over-style dress.
Within ten minutes, Lisa had snipped the Poundshop plastic bag to create the flattering v-neck and front panel – all held securely in place with a wide black belt.
Full-time mum Lisa decided to surprise Michelle by wearing her custom creation to the party at her house.
The dress resulted in fits of giggles and her pal declaring: “I knew you were up to something, I love it.”

A hilarious 46-second video shows Lisa’s 16-year-old son Michael Barnes modelling the “dress” and flamboyantly posing in front of the mirror declaring “I’m going to rock up to prom like this”.
The footage then cuts to Michelle’s reaction as she sees what Lisa is wearing for the first time and is reduced to fits of laughter.
Lisa said: “Michelle’s face when she saw it on Saturday was brilliant, she couldn’t believe it.
“She started laughing and said I was crazy. I didn’t stay in the dress long as it was hot and sticking to me because I was sweating.
“After a few minutes I told her ‘I need to get upstairs and get out of this’.”
Self-conscious of her size 18 figure, cervical cancer survivor Michelle, left, joked to Lisa, right, that she would look gorgeous in anything[/caption]

Inspiration for the “trashy” dress when the pair were shopping for an outfit for Ladies Day at Newcastle Racecourse.
Self-conscious of her size 18 figure, cervical cancer survivor Michelle joked: “It’s alright for you, being so slim you could put a bloody bin bag on and look gorgeous”.
Michelle said she had no idea that Lisa would rustle up the dress – and her dressing room statement was proved right.
Although the bin bag dress wowed, Lisa opted for this stylish number for the rest of the evening[/caption]
Michelle was shocked when she saw her friend’s creation, and said: “When Lisa arrived on Saturday night I was finishing off getting ready upstairs and didn’t have a clue what was going on.
“I walked into the living room and she’s stood there with this bin bag on – but it looked lush.
“I was thinking ‘oh my god I can’t believe it’ – there was even detail cut into the back.
“It was hilarious, I thought it was brilliant.
“And I was right, she did look bloody good in a bin bag’.”
