Norwich City don’t plan to sell English defender Max Aarons to Manchester United in the 2019 summer transfer window, according to a report in England.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Championship winners are eager to keep the 19-year-old at Carrow Road following their promotion to the Premier League.

The same article states that Manchester United had been looking at Aarons as a potential alternative to Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

According to the same story, Champions League runners-up Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in a deal to sign the England Under-21 international following their disappointment in Madrid.

The Daily Telegraph go on to say that Norwich have put a transfer strategy in place to put them in a strong position to compete in the Premier League, which includes keeping their best players such as Aarons at the club.

Manchester United have been linked with a number of full-backs in the summer window following Antonio Valencia’s departure on a free transfer.

The Red Devils signed their first summer signing earlier this month after Manchester United recruited Daniel James in a £15m deal from Championship side Swansea City.

The 20-time English champions finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term.
