THE STONE ROSES gave fans the resurrection they had dreamed of for 15 years when the band reunited for a series of huge gigs in 2012.
Six years on, fresh excitement is building as frontman Ian Brown relaunches his solo career.

Ian has been recording material with pals in Manchester for a new album, which he is planning to release before the end of the year.
Insiders say he is using analogue techniques to emphasise a classic sound, while the singer was spotted filming a video for one track in Agden, Cheshire, last week.
A source said: “It’s been nine years since Ian dropped his last solo album so he finally decided it was time to start working on a new one.
“He wanted to recreate the lo-fi vibe of his first album Unfinished Monkey Business so has recorded the whole album in analogue. Ian put it together with some close friends in Manchester and a team at Fiction Records is the driving force behind it.

“He’s hoping to drop some of the tracks in November and filmed the music video for one of the songs last week on a bridge overlooking the Bridgewater canal in Agden.
Ian’s really hoping it’s going to take off and has been inspired by Liam Gallagher’s solo successes recently too.”
Last year it emerged The Stone Roses — behind era-defining tracks such as Made Of Stone and I Am The Resurrection — were liquidating their company Second Touring, fuelling speculation the band had split for good.
And Ian ended their 2017 gig at Glasgow’s Hampden Park by telling the crowd: “Don’t be sad it’s over — be happy that it happened.”

The group,, which also features guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary “Mani” Mounfiled and drummer Alan “Reni” Wren, first split in 1996 before reforming in 2011.
Ian clearly isn’t quite ready to wave the music scene goodbye.

But it was overshadowed by pro-Donald Trump comments he made later.
In footage shot by comic Chris Rock, he said: “There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say ‘how could you like Trump? He’s racist.
“Well, if I was concerned about racism I would have moved out of America long ago.”

Described as a “coming-of-age record”, the song tells the story of how band members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson have matured as women.
It is the first tune from their fifth studio album, due out in November.

She declared: “Like millions of women around the world I know about bullying, I know about verbal abuse.
“I know about physical abuse. I know about abuse of authority.
