Stephan Warnock has marvelled at James Milner’s supreme versatility in the Liverpool FC team.

Milner has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s best players in the opening weeks of the season despite being an unfashionable name.

The Liverpool FC vice captain scored in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in their second game at Selhurst Park.

The 32-year-old has also made assists in victories over West Ham United and Leicester City.

Milner opened his account for the Champions League campaign with a penalty in a 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Leeds United and Newcastle star created Roberto Firmino’s winner to seal a vital Champions League triumph.

Milner was dropped to the bench for a rest for the visit of Southampton but came on in the second half to help the Reds secure a 3-0 win on Saturday.

Ex-Liverpool FC defender Warnock explained exactly why Milner is such a brilliant player.

“He ticks every box of a midfielder,” Warnock told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Most players will have one or two boxes they can tick and they are exceptional at it. He is an 8 or 9 in every box he ticks.”

Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho, RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, Stoke City forward Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the summer transfer window.

The Reds have reached three cup finals under Klopp but Liverpool FC are still waiting to secure their first piece of silverware.

The Merseyside outfit have won their first five games at the start of the season for the first time since 1990.
