Garth Crooks has lavished praise on Eden Hazard following his brilliant performances for Chelsea FC so far this season.
The Belgian playmaker was the star of the show on Saturday as he struck a hat-trick to help the west London side claim all three points with a 4-1 win over Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea FC’s win lifted them up to the top of the Premier League table on goal difference and it maintained their 100 per cent start to the new campaign under Maurizio Sarri.
Hazard has been in particularly impressive form this season so far, with the Belgium international having struck five goals and made two assists in the Premier League.
And Crooks was hugely impressed by Hazard’s display on Saturday as he helped to inspire Chelsea FC to a dominant win in front of their home fans.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Crooks said: “My goodness Eden Hazard’s first goal took me back.
“I haven’t seen an ‘over’ completed so effectively for years – the term used by the pros for what is euphemistically called ‘a dummy’.
“The move, when executed well, can rip defences apart and Hazard used it beautifully. Hazard’s hat-trick against a Cardiff team who were so far out of their depth it was scary only tells part of the story.
“The Belgium international is playing the football of his life.”
Chelsea FC will now turn their attentions to Europa League affairs and their away trip to PAOK on Thursday night.
New Blues boss Sarri has been tasked with at least steering Chelsea FC back into the top four this season after they finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last term.
