THIS is the budget food store where families can buy entire meals for just 11p.
In and Out of Date Pop and Chocs, in Longton, Staffs., offers out-of-date goods at a massive discount for people who can’t afford full-price items.
The shop was set up by dad Paul Woodall, 43, who works with wholesalers to pick up food that is past its ‘best before’ date but still safe to eat.
Customers can pick up packets of sauce for as little as 1p, while boxes of chocolates start at £1.
He told Stoke-on-Trent Live: “People are amazed and we get a lot of customers who are surprised at how cheap it is.
“When they hear the total cost for their shop, they ask ‘are you sure?’. When we say yes it’s right they can’t believe it.”
“You could buy enough food for a meal for just 11p.
“It’s getting to the stage where people could be able to do their weekly shop here and we have people coming two to three times a week.”
Paul was inspired to open his store after a lifetime of struggling to afford full-price food.
He added: “I was brought up by my mum, who was a single parent, and I know what it’s like for people who struggle to afford full price brands.

“Before I started my business, I was a part-time Chinese takeaway delivery driver and I was struggling to afford food and treats for my kids.
“I then discovered some places where I could go to get discounted treats for my kids and then my family would ask me to get some for them as well.
“So that inspired me to open my own store and help other people who were in the same situation as myself.”
