GLASTONBURY fans got the most unexpected football reference — as Manchester United fan Stormzy name checked DAVID MOYES during his headline set.

The grime superstar, 25, had the world-famous Pyramid Stage to himself and won plaudits as the set was beamed live to millions on the BBC.

Flop Manchester United boss David Moyes had just one season at Old Trafford before being sacked

But football fans were left rewinding the TV as he dropped a reference to the flop Old Trafford gaffer, who lasted just one season after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Stormzy donned a Union Jack stab vest and became the first black British solo artist to top the bill since the show began in 1970.

During the 2015 song ‘Know Me From,’ the Croydon rapper said: “I come to your team and f*** s*** up, I’m David Moyes.”

Moyes has been out of work since leaving West Ham over a year ago, but ironically the lyric may help him get some new work!

I come to your team and f*** s*** up, I’m David Moyes.

The Scot, 56, was perhaps unfairly blamed for United’s demise after Fergie’s retirement in 2013, where subsequent managers Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have all failed to rekindle the club’s success.

Fans were quick to point out that Moyes’ six-year contract initially offered by executive vice chairman Ed Woodward has STILL not expired.

United are set to land another Croydon star in Aaron Wan-Bissaka imminently after pictures leaked of the Crystal Palace star holding a kit and signing a contract.

But the two clubs are thought to be still wrangling over the details of his £50million move.

United have also been tipped to land extra names, but signing Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes have been described as ‘slim’.
