Manchester United are prepared to pay David De Gea £20m to move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer rather than leave for nothing next year, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils are braced to lose the Spain international in the upcoming transfer window rather than allow De Gea to run down his contract.
The same article states that De Gea is happy to spend the next 12 months at Old Trafford in order to secure a big pay day when he moves on a free transfer to his next club.
According to the same story, Manchester United are reluctant to allow De Gea to run down the remaining months on his Manchester United contract and leave on a free transfer in 2020.
As a result, the Sun report claims that the 20-time English champions will pay De Gea £20m to move to PSG this summer if the Ligue 1 champions make an offer in the region of £60m and £75m.
De Gea suffered an alarming dip in his performance level in the final months of the season following high-profile mistakes against Chelsea FC and FC Barcelona.
Manchester United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their permanent manager at the end of March after he initially replaced Jose Mourinho on an interim basis in December 2018.
