Manchester United will confirm the signing of Bruno Fernandes after the Uefa Nations League final, according to a report in Portugal.
Portuguese media outlet A Bola, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Red Devils are leading the race to sign the Sporting Lisbon attacker.
The same article states that Manchester United are hoping to conclude a deal for Fernandes before the Uefa Nations League showpiece on Sunday.
According to the same story, the 20-time English champions are prepared to pay between £62m and £72m to land the 24-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The report goes on to say that Manchester United want to announce the deal for Fernandes as soon as possible after the Uefa Nations League concludes on Sunday.
Fernandes netted 20 goals and made 13 assists in 20 games in the Portuguese top flight last term to attract interest from some top European clubs.
Manchester United are looking to improve their squad following a disappointing sixth-placed finish in the Premier League last term.
The Red Devils lacked creativity in midfield throughout the Premier League campaign but Fernandes would certainly help to address this problem.
The 20-time English champions haven’t won a trophy in their last two seasons and missed out on a spot in next season’s Champions League.
