Manchester United are confident of wrapping up a £71m deal to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to a report in Portugal.
Portuguese media outlet A Bola, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Red Devils are looking to finalise a big-money deal to sign the 24-year-old this week.
The same article states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has earmarked Fernandes as a vital signing for the 20-time English champions in the summer transfer window.
According to the same story, Manchester United are leading Manchester City in the race to sign the Sporting star following an unconvincing bid from the Premier League champions.
Fernandes scored 32 goals and made 18 assists in 53 games in all competitions for Sporting Lisbon in the 2018-19 season.
