LIVERPOOL and Tottenham fans were seen getting into the spirit in sunny Madrid ahead of tonight’s all-English Champions League final.

Football lovers from across the world descended on the Spanish capital for tonight’s momentous game under glorious blue skies.

Fans dressed in their team stripes and drank beer as they joked around and soaked up the atmosphere.

Some went further – with one fan spotted wearing a Bart Simpson head, while another donned gold armour to get the party going.


Security has stepped up in Madrid, as nearly 5,000 cops take part in Operation Albion today ahead of the match in Wanda Metropolitano tonight.

The game will not start until 9pm local time – 8pm BST – but fans have been told to head for the stadium from 5pm onwards. The gates will open at 6pm.

Spurs fans have been urged to go to the Plaza Colon, named after Christopher Columbus, to catch their trains, and Liverpool supporters to go to the Plaza Felipe II, a long ago Spanish monarch, to get theirs.
