Jurgen Klopp has appeared to play down the possibility of Liverpool FC signing any world-class players this summer.
The Reds were 6-0 winners against local rivals Tranmere Rovers in their first pre-season friendly last week.
Goals from Nathaniel Clyne, Ryan Brewster (two), Curtis Jones, Divock Origi and Bobby Duncan sealed a landslide victory.
Liverpool FC have only signed 17-year-old Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg in a £1.6m deal from FC Twolle in the summer so far.
The Reds won the Champions League title last season thanks to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Madrid showpiece.
Liverpool FC finished a point adrift of Premier League champions Manchester City despite losing just one game last term.
Asked whether Liverpool will bring in players that are ‘going to impact the first-team squad right away’ this summer, Klopp replied:
“We brought them in already, only you don’t realise it. Rhian Brewster; Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t play last year; all the young boys today.
“They are all new players for us, that’s all good. The transfer market is open until August 8. The whole of Europe had the idea to close the transfer window early and the only country that did it was then England, so we close it now three weeks before all the others.
“We will see what we do but I don’t think it will be the biggest transfer window of all time.”
Liverpool FC have been linked with a potential swoop to re-sign Brazil international Philippe Coutinho from FC Barcelona this summer.
The Reds have released Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge this summer to leave voids in their squad that may need to be filled ahead of the new season.
Liverpool FC have finished in second place in the Premier League table in 2002, 2009, 2014 and 2018 under four different managers.
