Charlie Nicholas is tipping Southampton to hold Chelsea FC to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League at St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues have begun to find some form under new boss Frank Lampard and they head into the trip to the South Coast on the back of wins over Brighton and Lille.
Chelsea FC claimed a 2-1 victory away at Lille on Wednesday night to pick up their first Champions League points of the season.
That victory came after the Blues overcame Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League last weekend at Stamford Bridge to win their first home league game under Lampard.
Chelsea FC will now be aiming to make it back to back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season.
However, Arsenal legend Nicholas feels that the west London side are going to have to share the spoils when the two teams meet at St Mary’s this weekend.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “This is another good test for Southampton, who were decent against Tottenham. Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have been praised, and rightly so.
“Abraham has earned his first England call-up, rightly so too. Chelsea are sitting in seventh which is acceptable – it is tight at the moment.
“It will be a season full of ups and downs for the Blues and with lots of games coming up for their youngsters, it may just take its toll on occasions.”
Chelsea FC are aiming to maintain their place in the top four this season after they finished third and won the Europa League under Maurizio Sarri last term.
