Sir Alex Ferguson looked to be in high spirits as Manchester United signed off for 2018 with a thumping 4-1 win over Bournemouth at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have been in fine form since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s interim boss following the sacking of Jose Mourinho earlier this month.
Man of the match Paul Pogba scored twice in the opening 33 minutes, before Marcus Rashford added a third on the stroke of half-time.
Nathan Ake pulled a goal back for the visitors before the break, but substitute Romelu Lukaku added a fourth in the second half to wrap up three points for the Red Devils.
Manchester United now head into the new year in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points behind fifth-placed Arsenal.
And the former Manchester United manager Ferguson certainly looked to be pleased with the Red Devils’ recent upturn in form, if the photo above taken after the final whistle at Old Trafford is anything to go by.
Manchester United fans and football supporters worldwide will be pleased to see Sir Alex looking in good shape after his health scare earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they take on Newcastle United away from home.
