Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Alexis Sanchez should be fit for Manchester United’s crunch clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next weekend.
The Chile international has only just returned to action for the Red Devils after having struggled with an injury over the last few weeks.
The 30-year-old forward notched up an assist as he played 64 minutes of Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Reading in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday lunchtime at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will now turn their attentions towards preparing for their crunch showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next weekend.
Sanchez felt a tight hamstring towards the end of his involvement on Saturday – but Solskjaer is hopeful that the problem is not very serious.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website after the FA Cup victory, Solskjaer said: “He [Sanchez] was feeling his hamstring towards the end and he should have told me a minute before because I had just made two subs and I didn’t have to take one off in the end.
“I think he will be OK, but he was tired and hopefully it is not a bad reaction so we will see once we get closer to next week.”
Manchester United have been in fine form since Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho last month, with the Red Devils having won all five of their games in all competitions.
The Red Devils are in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.
