Michael Owen is tipping Chelsea FC to beat West Ham United in a high-scoring game at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

The Blues were 3-0 winners against Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night after Callum Hudson-Odoi impressed on his full Premier League debut.

The 18-year-old justified calls for his inclusion in Maurizio Sarri’s starting line up with an assist for Olivier Giroud’s opening goal.

The Chelsea FC teenager will be hoping to retain his starting spot when West Ham make the short trip across the English capital to west London on Monday night.

The Blues have the chance to hoist themselves above Tottenham Hotspur and into fourth spot in the Premier League table with a win given that Spurs aren’t in action this weekend.

Sarri’s side can also build a three-point lead over Manchester United, who won’t take to the pitch in the English top flight again until Saturday 13 April.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Chelsea FC to ease past West Ham at Stamford Bridge to improve their prospects of securing Champions League football.

“Chelsea followed up their late win at Cardiff with a resounding 3-0 home win over Brighton on Wednesday and will be hoping to make it a quick double when they host West Ham,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Victory is looking essential to keep their top four hopes alive and with only one defeat on home soil in the Premier League this term they have made Stamford Bridge quite a fortress.

“The Hammers have taken just one point from a possible last eighteen on the road and despite plenty of attacking flair are highly unlikely to add to that tally here.”

Chelsea FC will take on Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals later this month.

Sarri’s side lost to Manchester City on penalties in the EFL Cup final at Wembley back in February.
