Mark Lawrenson is tipping Liverpool FC to ease to a straightforward 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday night.
The Reds will make the short trip to Burnley in pursuit of three points to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool FC were 1-0 winners against Everton at Anfield last weekend after Divock Origi came off the bench to score the decisive goal in the fifth minute of added time.
The Belgium international was making his first appearance of the 2018-19 Premier League season before Origi made his mark in his six-minute cameo.
The 23-year-old will be hoping that Jurgen Klopp gives the former Lille forward a chance to shine against Burnley on Wednesday night.
Liverpool FC were 2-1 winners against Sean Dyche’s side in their meeting at Turf Moor last season after Ragnar Klavan netted a late winner.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing the Reds to notch up a 2-0 win against Burnley.
“Liverpool needed Jordan Pickford’s error to hand them victory in Sunday’s Merseyside derby, but they still got the job done and, in the Premier League, that is what they have been doing all season,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“Burnley, meanwhile, are in trouble. It is not just as if they are out of sorts – more that, they seem to have lost their fight.
“That was the one thing you could always rely on them having last season, when they were horrible to play against. Now it feels easy to beat them, which is very unusual for a Sean Dyche team.
“Dyche has pointed out that they went a long run without winning then as well, but they were a different team, with a very different attitude.
“It is two points from seven games now for Burnley and the really worrying thing is that they have played a few of the teams around them at the bottom in that time, without finding a way to win.
“Turf Moor on a cold December night is still a test, no matter how badly Burnley are playing, but it is one I think Liverpool will pass.
“Reds boss Jurgen Klopp played 4-2-3-1 against Everton and brought Xherdan Shaqiri into the team. He could do the same here, but it looks like Roberto Firmino needs a rest, so Klopp might have to shuffle his pack a little to get the result he wants.”
Liverpool FC are in second place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of defending champions Manchester City.
Only Tottenham Hotspur have a better record on the road in the Premier League this season after Liverpool FC collected 17 points from seven away games.
The Reds have only dropped points in draws with Arsenal, Chelsea FC and Manchester City in the current campaign.
