Liverpool FC are on the brink of completing a deal to sign Fulham teenager Harvey Elliott, according to a report in England.
Sky Sports News is reporting that the Reds are set to sign the Fulham starlet despite interest from La Liga giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid as well as Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
The same article states that Liverpool FC are poised to recruit the free agent after his contract expired at the west London side.
According to the same story, the Merseyside outfit will add the 16-year-old to their first-team squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Sky Sports News goes on to add that Liverpool FC will need to settle on a compensation package with the relegated Premier League club.
Elliott made his debut at the raw age of 15 in Fulham’s 3-1 victory over Millwall in the League Cup third round in September 2018.
The England Under-18 international made his Premier League debut in Fulham’s 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in May.
Elliott became the youngest-ever player to feature in the Premier League at the age of 16 and 30 days.
Liverpool FC have already signed 17-year-old Dutch defender Sepp van den Berg from FC Twolle in a £1.6m deal this summer.
The Reds won the Champions League for the sixth time in June.
