PETR CECH has announced a bold new career move and he will be allowed to keep his trademark headguard on – when playing ice hockey for Guildford Phoenix.
Some former footballers are tempted into appearances on shows such as Dancing on Ice but the ex-Chelsea and Arsenal keeper has different plans for the rink.
On Wednesday night, the shock announcement was made that Cech would be playing for Guildford this season as their netminder.
The 37-year-old said he was “delighted” to begin his new career in a sport he has “loved to watch and play as a kid”.
