CORONAVIRUS deaths in the UK have increased to 28,131, as Michael Gove prepares to address the nation today at 4pm.
The jump from 27,510 means the UK remains one of the worst hit countries in the world as it continues to battle COVID-19.
The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster will reveal the latest figures and information on the Government’s battle against the virus, during the daily update from Downing Street this afternoon.
It comes as the nation waits with baited breath for an announcement on lockdown restrictions, which are set to be reviewed on May 7.
Many parts of the UK have experienced a return of warmer spring weather this weekend, with some areas enjoying temperatures of 17C.
The news comes as Boris Johnson revealed doctors prepared to announce his death as he battled coronavirus. The Prime Minister told The Sun on Sunday he was given “litres and litres of oxygen” to keep him alive.
