Callum Hudson-Odoi could be willing to commit his future to Chelsea FC if Frank Lampard is appointed as the club’s new manager, according to reports.
The Daily Mail, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Hudson-Odoi is still pondering his long-term future after having struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at Chelsea FC last season.
Hudson-Odoi found his first-team opportunities to be limited last season under Maurizio Sarri, although he did feature a bit more regularly towards the end of the campaign before suffering an Achilles injury.
Chelsea FC confirmed on Sunday that they had parted ways with Sarri to allow the Italian to leave and take charge of Juventus.
Lampard is thought to be among the candidates to take over from Sarri at Stamford Bridge this summer, despite his relative inexperience as a manager.
The same report claims that Hudson-Odoi believes that he would get more first-team opportunities under Lampard should the former midfielder move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, it is claimed in the same story that Derby County still hope to keep hold of Lampard after he guided them to the Championship play-off final last season.
Hudson-Odoi’s current contract at Chelsea FC is set to expire at the end of next season.
