JLR to cut 5,000 jobs with US carmaker set to trim European production

Jaguar Land Rover and Ford are to slash thousands of jobs, with some of the cuts expected to affect UK staff.

JLR, Britain’s largest carmaker, is expected to unveil up to 5,000 job losses on Thursday afternoon as it attempts to shore up its finances against slumping diesel sales, falling Chinese demand and Brexit uncertainty.
