Dion Dublin says Tammy Abraham is rewarding Frank Lampard for placing his faith in the Chelsea FC striker after his hat-trick in a 5-2 win at Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
The Chelsea FC manager has decided to give Abraham a sustained run in the Blues team ahead of experienced Premier League striker Olivier Giroud.
Abraham drew a blank in his first two games before the Blues starlet scored twice in a 3-2 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road last month.
He followed up that brace with another two-goal haul in Chelsea FC’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United in their last game before the international break.
Abraham continued his prolific form despite the fortnight’s rest with a sensational hat-trick against Wolves to lead the Premier League’s goal-scoring charts.
Former Manchester United striker Dublin believes Abraham is seizing his chance to shine for Chelsea FC after being denied a chance by Lampard’s predecessors.
“I have been fortunate to interview Tammy Abraham and he is so confident,” Dublin told BBC Sport.
“He knows he can score goals but he just wants someone to take a chance on him. Now he is getting that chance and boy is he taking it. He’s been fantastic.”
Abraham will be hoping to start his first Chelsea FC game in the Champions League when the Blues take on Valencia at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The English striker has scored seven goals in five games to make a fine start to the Premier League season.
Chelsea FC have now won two of their Premier League fixtures under Lampard.
