Trent Alexander-Arnold is confident Liverpool FC can challenge Chelsea FC and Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

The Reds have made an encouraging start to the season following a run of six victories and two stalemates to keep pace with their title rivals at the top of the table.

Liverpool FC set a new club record with six straight Premier League victories to secure top spot in the Premier League table in August.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side were held to a 1-1 draw with Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge after Daniel Sturridge cancelled out Eden Hazard’s first-half opener.

The Reds survived a late scare after Riyad Mahrez missed an 86th minute penalty to secure a 0-0 draw with defending champions Manchester City at Anfield last weekend.

There is little doubt that Liverpool FC haven’t hit top form in the Premier League this season despite remaining unbeaten in their opening eight games.

Liverpool FC thrilled with their attacking displays last term, but reigning PFA player of the year Mohamed Salah hasn’t hit top form in the current campaign.

Speaking to the media ahead of England’s clash against World Cup finalists Croatia on Friday, Alexander-Arnold is quoted as saying by Daily Star:

“Yeah [Liverpool FC can challenge for the title]. I think it’s just about keeping the momentum going.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s Champions League or Premier League, you have to focus on what lies ahead.

“You need to want to win. We’re going to fight for it and win as much as we can.”

Liverpool FC will make the trip to Huddersfield Town in their next Premier League game on Saturday 20 October when Jurgen Klopp will face off with his compatriot and friend David Wagner.

The Merseyside outfit have recorded successive fourth place finishes under Klopp to find a measure of consistency in the Premier League.

Klopp is looking to become the first Liverpool FC manager to win the Premier League after Gerard Houllier, Rafael Benitez and Brendan Rodgers all fell short with second placed finishes.

Liverpool FC signed Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker in the 2018 summer transfer window to build a squad capable of competing with Manchester City.
