DANNY SIMPSON and Andy King are likely to leave Leicester before the end of the European transfer window, according to reports.

The Foxes duo played a key role in Claudio Ranieri’s title-winning side but have fallen down the pecking order.

Danny Simpson and Andy King will always be heroes in Leicester

And after they were not named in the squad for the Carabao Cup win over Fleetwood, the Leicester Mercury insists they are facing an exit.

Premier League clubs can still sell or loan players abroad despite the window slamming shut early due to new rules.

Foxes chief Claude Puel would not address Simpson, 31, and 29-year-old King directly but claimed he wanted to respect players’ contributions by finding them a good home.

He said: “I don’t want to talk about just some players.

“There is a possibility that some players could find another project and I want to respect my players, knowing their fantastic feeling with Leicester.

“We have to respect this and them, and to help them find a good project to help them continue, with a good feeling and good quality in their career.

“That is important and we will see if it is possible or not to support them and help them, because we have to respect these men.”

In addition to King and Simpson, Yohan Benalouane and Bartosz Kapustka are yet to play this season and could be heading elsewhere
