POLICE investigating two separate knife attacks on women in east London have arrested a man on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder.

The women, one aged 57 and one in her 60s, were knifed in nearby streets in Bow.

Police were called to Parnell Road on Sunday to reports of a woman having been stabbed

Cops tonight confirmed they had made a second arrest after warning women to remain vigilant.

A 36-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning at an address in Bow on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder.

It comes after officers were called to Parnell Road on Sunday to reports of a woman having been stabbed.

At the scene a 57-year-old woman had suffered a number of stab wounds.

She was taken to an east London hospital by London Ambulance Service. Her injuries are not life threatening.


Two days previously, on Friday, a woman in her 60s was stabbed in nearby Chariot Close.

Her injuries, although requiring hospital treatment, were not life threatening.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH on Sunday and released under investigation pending further enquiries.
