Auburn student Ashley Ward became a viral sensation when her attempt to catch one of Daniel Carlson‘s kickoffs in the win against LSU last season resulted in a football-in-the-face moment for the ages.
As it turns out, Ward had a bet with the Auburn managers that she could catch one of Carlson’s kickoffs. According to her appearance with Daniel Tosh on Comedy Central’s “Tosh.0,” Carlson, a stellar kickoff specialist and Lou Groza Award finalist, had pinpoint accuracy with his kicks and Ward believed that, given the opportunity, she could snag one in the LSU game.
The footage from a friend’s phone shows Ward holler, “I’ve got it,” and claim the fly ball like any good outfielder, only to catch it right on the nose. Ward had to deal with some of Tosh’s usual grating as he dug through the embarrassment before allowing her to shine in a combine-like atmosphere for the “NFL (No Females League) Draft.”
Check out Tosh, with his NSFW digs at football in the south, and Ward, who offers a “War Eagle” for Nick Saban, in this week’s edition of “Web Redemption” on Tosh.0.
