First lady Melania Trump will join her husband on his first foreign trip as president, the White House announced on Thursday.
President Trump is slated to visit Saudi Arabia, Israel, Belgium, Italy and the Vatican during his eight-day trip, which will include participation in a NATO meeting and a G7 summit.
Melania Trump is scheduled to conduct her own events throughout the trip and to deliver a speech to U.S. military personnel and families at the conclusion of the travel.
“I am very excited for the upcoming trip,” the first lady said in a statement. “This will not just be an opportunity to support my husband as he works in important matters of national security and foreign relations, it will also be my honor to visit and speak with women and children from different countries, with different perspectives.”
The Trump family will leave for the trip on Friday, stopping first in Riyadh.
