This comes at a time when the Kaspersky is pushing hard to increase its footprint in the cyber security segment and seeing huge growth in countries like Singapore, Malaysia and India. In India, the company has been one of the few players which has managed to penetrate the corporate as well as personal cyber security space with a healthy market share, say industry trackers.
Mitrokhin held senior leadership roles at several high-growth companies including American Power Conversion and USP CompuLink before he joined Kaspersky, the company said in the statement.
“Kaspersky Lab’s APAC team is in top gear, as we take on the challenge of maintaining growth in the B2C (business to customer) market as well as expanding our enterprise security portfolio in the region. With Maxim at the helm, I am confident that his wealth of operational expertise and thorough understanding of the Kaspersky Lab proposition will push development forward in the SMB and enterprise markets and drive new initiatives and business growth,” said Garry Kondakov, Chief Business Officer, Kaspersky Lab.
The company has been pushing for products that would safeguard gadgets owned by individuals including smartphones and laptops.
Maxim Mitrokhin, managing director, Kaspersky Lab Asia Pacific, said, “I am excited to lead and grow an already highly successful business in the Asia Pacific region. Our evolving portfolio of B2B products and business solutions combined with the strength of our channel network puts us in a great position to explore and exploit the full potential of the Asia Pacific market. I look forward to working with the team and our business partners to give the best to our users.”
