Louisville’s first opponent for the 2017 College World Series has been set.
U of L will face Texas A&M in its opening game at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha on either June 17 or 18. The complete schedule for the College World Series will be announced by the end of the week.
U of L (52-10) secured its spot in the College World Series on Saturday with a second straight win over Kentucky in the Louisville Regional at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cards have advanced to four College World Series, three in the last five years.
Texas A&M (41-21) clinched the College State Super Regional on its home field a few hours later, using a seven-run eighth inning comeback to complete a sweep of Davidson. The Aggies have earned six College World Series trips and last appeared in 2011.
