Gary From Chicago Released From Jail After 20 Years Just 3 Days Before Oscars Ceremony – Hollywood Life

Saying ?Gary From Chicago? stole the show at the Oscars may get him in trouble with his parole officer. Gary Alan Coe was fresh out of the fed when he appeared at the Feb. 26 event, having been released from prison just days before becoming the latest viral sensation!

In a room full of the biggest names in all of Hollywood, it was ?Gary From Chicago,? aka Gary Alan Coe, 59, who came off as the brightest star. Yet, there?s a shocking history behind this Academy Awards moment, as the South Shore native served two decades behind bars for multiple felonies, according to TMZ. In fact, he was barely out of jail when he appeared at the Oscars, as he was released just three days before the Feb. 26 awards show.

While Gary?s crimes weren?t immediately made known, public records obtained by the Daily Mail claim that ?Gary Cole? was serving time for, among other things, an ?attempted rape by force or fear.? The records state that Gary was released from Corcoran Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Bakersfield, California, and that her?is reportedly a registered sex offender. Hopefully, after paying his debt to society by serving his time, Gary didn?t get in any legal trouble by this Academy Awards stunt.

Gary met his fianc?e, Vickie Vines, while serving time, and has since become religious. The two became the hit of the Academy Awards when host Jimmy Kimmel, 49, had a bus full of sightseeing tourists walk into the Dolby Theater, completely unaware that they were about to hang out with icons like Denzel Washington, 62, and Meryl Streep, 67.

?Change is possible. It?s a sad day to be in prison for 20 years and not be able to be a dad, granddad to your children,? he told ABC7. ?You know what my son told me today, man, and I almost come to tears. He said he?s proud of me. So to hear your children say that they?re proud of me means the world to me.?

Though Denzel ?fake married? Vickie and Gary, Black-ish actor Anthony Anderson, 46, said he?s ?actually ordained to marry people in California. So if they?re around, I was trying to get them up here so I could marry them on this show. Why wait ?til July?? The Chicago Bulls also offered to give Gary and Vickie tickets to a game, while Gino?s East said they were willing to cater the wedding (or, just offer some free pizza when they?re in town.)

What do you think about Gary?s history,?HollywoodLifers? Do you find it shocking?
