THE cast of ‘Allo ‘Allo have reunited in costume 26 years after the comedy went off air.

Those behind the hit BBC show assembled at a retro festival over the weekend and thrilled fans by getting into character.

Vicki Michelle, who played Yvette, was joined by Richard Gibson dressed as his character Gestapo Officer Herr Flick, Guy Siner as Lieutenant Gruber and Kim Hartman as Private Helga Geerhart.

The group were at the Gloucester Goes Retro Festival held on Saturday.

The Beeb reportedly ruled out a remake of the classic show back in 2016 for fear the Nazis in it would cause offence.

Bosses who gave the OK to others such as Are You Being Served? were said to be terrified viewers might not see the funny side of Herr Flick.

‘Allo ‘Allo! ran from 1982 to 1992 and the success of the show was so great a stage version was created.

It starred the late Gorden Kaye as reluctant French Resistance spy and cafe owner Rene.

Carmen Silvera played his nagging wife Edith.

The sitcom left a legacy of catchphrases and boasted a host of famous fans.

Lord Bath even created an exhibition in his ancestral home Longleat.
